Stonehill Communities received a legacy gift for $106,329 from the estate of Thomas Hoffmann. After meeting with his surviving spouse, Joan, Stonehill has confirmed this gift will kick off the appeal to raise money for the chapel renovations at the Stonehill Health Center. Joan states that her husband would have been so pleased to see the money used for this project. Renovation and expansion of the chapel is needed to accommodate the number of residents and families who attend both Catholic and Ecumenical services and those who attend the monthly memorial masses. Stonehill recognizes staying connected with their faith is crucial to the residents and their families and values the importance of meeting the spiritual needs of residents.
The chapel project is projected to cost $800,000.
These renovations are part of a larger Master Site Plan that includes:
- Renovation and expansion of the Chapel
- Continuation of the household design, a move to all private resident rooms, and a main street concept for additional resident amenities and services
- Necessary addition of assisted living dementia care
