Stonehill Communities has proudly partnered with Aegis Therapies for nearly three years to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient therapy services that include physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. We are excited to announce two new services offered through our Outpatient Therapy Clinic.

Stonehill Outpatient Therapy Clinic is now offering LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) BIG and LSVT LOUD for patients who have Parkinson’s. We have specialized speech therapists and occupational therapy staff certified in these programs.

People living with Parkinson’s often move differently, with gestures and actions that become smaller and slower. LSVT BIG is a research-based exercise approach developed from principles of effective Parkinson’s specific treatment. LSVT BIG trains patients with Parkinson’s to walk faster and take bigger steps, improve balance, and increase trunk rotation. It teaches them how to avoid inactivity and keep their movements alive. Patients have reported improved quality of life following LSVT BIG. LSVT LOUD can help patients with Parkinson’s disease who commonly have speech problems. This therapy is proven to improve vocal loudness, intelligibility, confidence, and increase facial expression.

We are also excited to offer comprehensive lymphedema management. Lymphedema refers to swelling of arms or legs, often in response to cancer treatment. Currently we have multiple occupational therapy and physical therapy staff
members certified in this area. We can assist with manual node clearing, upper and lower body extremity fluid mobilization, multiple- layer compression bandaging, compression garment knowledge, proper exercise and positioning
techniques, and skin care.
