COVID-19 Communication Protocol Update
We will share a weekly update next week regarding our COVID-19 status. As reminder, the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) ends on May 11th, 2023. After the PHE ends, our current mitigation strategies will continue, however, we will no longer provide a regular weekly update. We will still be required to provide COVID-19 status communication updates by 5pm on the following day when we meet any of these thresholds :
When we identify a new COVID-19 positive case in a resident or employee
When we identify 3 or more residents/employees with COVID-19 symptoms
Community Pharmacy, our pharmacy partner, has shared that the FDA/CDC has provided new guidance for COVID-19 vaccinations. Following FDA regulatory action, the CDC acted to streamline COVID-19 vaccine recommendations by authorizing single-shot BIVALENT vaccines. The original (monovalent) primary series COVID-19 vaccine is no longer authorized. At this stage of the pandemic, data supports simplifying the use of the authorized mRNA bivalent COVID-19 vaccines. The FDA/CDC will continue to monitor COVID-19 outbreaks and vaccine effectiveness in the months ahead and decisions about future vaccinations in the fall are forthcoming. Stonehill will be e-mailing information and consent forms to resident representatives early next week to determine if residents would like to receive a Bivalent vaccine or booster. Read the updated guidance from Community Pharmacy related to COVID-19 vaccinations.
