Update from Stonehill 7.2.20 regarding COVID-19

URGENT MEMORANDUM

DATE: 7/2/2020

TO: All Stonehill Communities Community Members

FROM: Peggy Stockel, V.P. of Operations/Administrator

Re: Positive Case of COVID-19

Dear Stonehill Communities Community Members,

Today, a case of COVID-19, the illness resulting from the novel coronavirus, has been diagnosed in an employee of the Stonehill community. We have been fortunate that until today, we have had no positive COVID-19 cases confirmed in employees or residents.

The employee is in quarantine at home and has been off since symptoms began. The employee was not reporting symptoms on their last date worked and has not worked since. As a reminder, all employees have been wearing personal protective equipment following the CDC guidelines. We have notified public health officials as required and are following procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, State and Local Public Health. We are taking every step as recommended by authorities to contain the spread. We want to make residents, their families, and our dedicated staff aware of this situation and reassure everyone that we are on top of it.

Developments are changing day by day, minute by minute. Our focus remains on the health and well-being of our Stonehill community and your loved ones. We must also recognize our team for the concern and commitment they have shown to residents during this challenging time. Our mission has never been more meaningful.

We will be conducting testing for employees and residents beginning this afternoon. Until we have test results returned from all employees and residents, we will have no visitation on campus (with the exception of end of life). Early next week, we will provide a communication once results are received.

We ask that Stonehill residents and staff do all that they can to support our community by following the recommendations set forth by the CDC:

  • Social Distancing/staying home if possible
  • Washing Hands for 20 seconds with soap and water
  • Self-isolating if showing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19
  • Seek medical assistance as necessary

Thank you all for your support. We will provide updates regularly. Information can also be found on our website at www.stonehilldbq.com/coronavirus. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones during this difficult and unprecedented time.

Sincerely,

Peggy Stockel, V.P. of Operations/Administrator
