October 5, 2021

We have identified new positive cases in two Health Center employees. We continue to be in Outbreak Status. The new positive employees did not work in the 48 hours before testing positive and do not affect outbreak status or visitation. There are currently five positive staff cases.

Indoor visits continue to be restricted in the 2 Southeast Household (Rooms 220-233 and 250-254) and the 1st Floor Skilled Household (Rooms 138H-151H), except for preapproved compassionate care/end-of-life visits. Outdoor visits may be allowed for residents in these households (see guidelines below). Visitors to residents in other areas are allowed.

Please continue to schedule your visits with our social work team by emailing shcresidentvisits@stonehilldbq.com. Outdoor visits are encouraged as weather permits.

Guidelines to Visitation when in Outbreak Status

Per CMS, an outbreak is defined as one employee who has worked within 48 hours prior to testing positive or one resident.

Outdoor Visitation can occur at all times, unless a resident is in transmission-based precautions. Outdoor visits are allowed for residents in the affected unit that include vaccinated residents and those that did not have close contact that are unvaccinated. Outdoor visits are NOT allowed for residents that are unvaccinated and are considered close contact, those that are symptomatic, those that are positive, or those on quarantine for new admission/readmission that are unvaccinated.

Compassionate Care Visits can occur at all times. If a resident is in transmission-based precautions you should ensure that family/visitors entering these rooms are well-educated on PPE guidance. For residents in transmission-based precautions, these visits should be pre-approved.

Indoor visitation can occur on non-affected units. This includes resident households that were not tested based on contact tracing.

Indoor visitation for affected households can resume once we discontinue outbreak testing in the area affected (per CMS that is no additional cases for 14 days).

Please see below for full testing numbers.

If you have any questions regarding visitation or our ongoing precautionary measures you may contact Peggy Stockel, V.P. of Operations or Matt Jahn, Director of Health Services at 563-557-7180.
