Information Regarding Easing of Restrictions

We realize many of our families are asking about visitation. Last week an email was sent out with information regarding Iowa Guidance on Phased Easing of Restrictions for long-term care facilities. The original guidance was issued on 06/04/2020. You can read it here.

Every long-term care community is considered to be in Phase 1 of the guidance. Additionally, 14 days need to pass from the last positive case of COVID-19 within the facility, or if there have been no cases of COVID-19, such as at Stonehill, long-term care communities still need to wait 14 days from 06/04/2020 and meet additional criteria before moving to Phase 2.

There are still some outstanding questions regarding moving from Phase 1 to Phase 2 and we are seeking clarification from the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Department of Inspections and Appeals. Employee testing will be offered and is part of the requirement before we can move forward to Phase 2. At any point, if Stonehill would have a positive case, we will need to move back to Phase 1 and have all residents and employees tested.

Please know that Stonehill is working on creative ways to allow limited and controlled visits as we move into the Phasing so look for additional communications in the coming weeks.

As always, we continue to be grateful and much appreciative of the support we have received over these past few months.
