CNA Training program

Do you want to start a career in healthcare? Stonehill can help you obtain your CNA certification, make a difference in the lives of residents, and get established in your career in a matter of weeks with our CNA Training program.

TRAINING ON THE JOB

No prior experience or certification is required to work as a Nursing Assistant with Stonehill. With the CNA Training Program, Stonehill is able to help individuals begin healthcare careers. New employees are able to build relationships with peers in their field and earn an income while they are enrolled in a training class. Individuals are paid at a CNA rate and receive on-the-job training with our CNA mentor, a veteran member of our Nursing team, on CNA clinical and job duties and responsibilities.

PROGRAM BENEFITS

Enter into the field of Nursing prior to completing CNA certification. Stonehill will pay for CNA classes and/or certification tests of those who are hired as Nursing Assistants in the CNA Training Program. Individuals enrolled in the program may also be eligible for additional support services through Northeast Iowa Community College.

CNA CLASSES - WHAT TO EXPECT

CNA certification is the first step in a healthcare career. The 80-hour CNA course prepares students for employment as a nurse aide. For those who wish to continue growing in their nursing career, it fulfills the prerequisite for admission into the Northeast Iowa Community College nursing program. The fast-paced combination of classroom/virtual classroom, hands-on labs, and off-site clinical experience addresses basic nursing and personal care skills, patient rights and communication. Special attention to mental, physical and social health of geriatric and special populations is included.
