Sr. Berth Bonert (OSF), Care Center Administrator

The purpose of an ethics consult is to share information, help clarify options, and make recommendations that are advisory in nature.  Previous consults have been very beneficial for families, residents and staff.  Those involved have been very appreciative of any insights shared which have helped all concerned arrive at a mutually beneficial decision.  -Sr. Berth Bonert (OSF), Care Center Administrator

Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee is another manifestation of Stonehill's commitment to providing an exceptional quality of care. Health care decisions can have an ethical dimension. Through its ethics consultation service, the Ethics Committee assists residents/participants and their significant others, as well as staff, in understanding and working through these difficult dilemmas. The committee assists in the review of policies and guidelines at Stonehill to ensure that they reflect our mission and values and ethical best practice. The Ethics Committee also provides educational programs on health care issues for both the Stonehill campus and the Dubuque community.

We invite you to read these booklets prepared by the Ethics Committee:
